It was called Cinnamon Bubble Toast. We first toasted one side of the toast plain under the broiler then flipped it over and spread on the butter/cinnamon/sugar and returned it to the broiler. This way both sides are crispy! Then into the broiler. This was probably one if the firsts "dishes" I learned to make by myself as a child.
