Like today-- it's almost 7:00pm and it's 70 degrees outside. Nice! I can, still, get away with wearing flip-flops. But the nights...well, the winds from the Monterey Bay ocean along with the coast fog brings cooler nights in our backyard.
This is the time of year when I make soups, and bread. It's pumpkin and apple time, too!
I love making soups. They're my ultimate comfort food, along with a salad and some fresh bread.
Homemade Dinner Rolls In An Hour-- for real! Easy to do!
Leave room for some Fall Desserts:
If you can still find "Italian Prunes", this Plum and Fig Galette is easy to make. Love it!
Whether it's warm or cold outside, I'm always in the mood for Pumpkin Custard Ice Cream!
In two weeks, I'm having our Annual Oktoberfest at home:
For heaven's sake! No, those aren't my real "knoedel's"! It's a printed vest!
I would like to thank "Key Ingredient" for sponsoring a giveaway of their new Digital Recipe Reader.
I'm a big fan of Pinterest, as a way to save recipes that I want to save, hoping I'll get around to making them (if I live to be 200 years old!)
I use Key Ingredient as my way of storing recipes that I'm really serious about making-- or recipes that I've already made, and want to keep. It is very easy to create a recipe card. If you have a food blog, you can easily "embed" their recipe cards to your blog. Best of all, it's free!
One person is going to be very happy, because he/she has won a Recipe Reader. I used Random.org and the winner is------ Roz, who happens to have a blog called "La Bella Vita". Congratulation, Roz! Please email me at foodiewife@gmail.com so I can get your shipping address. Key Ingredient will send your Recipe Reader out to you, right away! I can't wait to hear how much you love this digital recipe box!
what a lovely post and a scrumptious line up - you REALLY got me with the fig galette!

I am so ready for fall. I want that pumpkin ice cream IMMEDIATELY!
ReplyDeleteLucky you - perfect weather is better than 4 seasons because at least 2 of them are not so great.
ReplyDeleteNice comforting dishes and I love your photo and comment!
The Pumpkin/Apple soup sounds delis - I'm just waiting for the weather to cool off! Yeah - you get a breeze, but we're just down the way and though it's gotten cooler, I can't see any of our fog out there yet.
ReplyDeleteGoing to try and rolls - anything that's easy and looks that great has to be yummy. Glad I stopped by. Have a great week - tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the 60's.
Oh Debby, I am sincerely so very grateful to you and Key Ingredient for being the fortunate winner of this awesome reader. I know that I am going to thoroughly enjoy it! I will email you with my info. And thank you for your mouth-watering fall round-up of recipes! I wish I would have seen the fig and plum galette recipe while I still had some figs yesterday!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Roz for winning that nifty kitchen aid. Can't even imagine getting all my recipes organized. Love your vest, Debby. I admit I did a double take (tee-hee) when your post came up. Love that pumpkin ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI would like to try your homemade rolls !
ReplyDelete... Pretty vest :D
Congrats Roz!!!
ReplyDeleteDebby...those are some delicious, comfort inducing dishes. I would love to move up north and have those much cooler summers. It's been a dream of mine for years.
